Q: What kind of comedians are the producers and booker of Stand-Up Comedy: LIVE at the SAGE THEATER looking for?
A: All kinds - each week, we seek to provide a variety of different comedy voices and styles, so originality and uniqueness are encouraged! Our show definitely has a unique "vibe" to it, however - we always recommend seeing our show first before submitting materials to us, as you'll have a much better chance of being booked if you showcase the aspects of your repertoire that best suit our room.
Q: How do I apply to get a spot on Stand-Up Comedy: LIVE at the SAGE THEATER?
A: It's simple - just e-mail to us (sagestandup [at] gmail.com) a link to a video clip* from a live performance, as well as a resume listing your comedy experience and a link to your website. (In the past, we have also considered applicants who have submitted audio clips or a recommendation from a comedian who regularly performs at Sage Stand-Up. While these certainly help, a great video is the best way to ensure that you are booked!)
* We get a large volume of spot requests, so please send only one
video clip of no more than 6 minutes. (If your clip is more than 6 minutes, we will not watch past the first 6.) Also, make sure it's a unedited
clip of you doing stand-up. (You'd be surprised how many people send us videos that of them doing sketches.)
Q: How long does it take for my submission to be reviewed?
A: As previously mentioned, we are inundated by spot requests, so please give us at least 2 weeks to review your material and get back to you. |
